ABOUT REBECCA:

Rebecca Gamble grew up in Granger, Indiana. She realized how much she enjoyed music during her elementary school general music classes. Her music experience continued in middle school (2004) when she started to play the clarinet. Private lessons began that year with Mrs. Pat Gollatz (Western Michigan grad) and continued until 2010 when she switched for a new perspective to Ms. Vickie Marshall (IU grad). During this time, Rebecca was fortunate to perform at the Indiana Music Educator Association's annual conference in 2007 with her 8th grade band at Discovery Middle School under the direction of Mr. Glenn Northern. Two years later, she was part of the Penn High School Symphonic Winds. This group was invited to perform in 2008, under the direction of Mr. Keith Rudolph, at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. A year later Rebecca attended Midwest as a spectator to enjoy the many opportunities available and would return a few years later. She was selected to be part of the Future Music Educators Colloquium through the Indiana Music Educators Association at the annual IMEA conference during her senior year.

After four years of heavy involvement in Penn High School's music program, including the state finalist concert band, state finalist marching band, state finalist orchestra, jazz band, pep band, and pit orchestra, Rebecca enrolled at Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio, to study instrumental music education. She was member of the clarinet studio studying with Distinguished Professor Michele Gingras. Currently, she is in her final semester at Miami in her student teaching experience. Since her arrival at Miami University, Rebecca has had the honor to march in the 2011 Macy’s Day Inaugural Parade and the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade with the Miami University Marching Band. Please read about other involvement at Miami on the resume page of this website. As for music education, her current career aspirations include working in an urban middle/high school teaching band and incorporating students with special needs into her program.
